Princes Highway West reaches another milestone

22 July, 2019Princes Highway West - Winchelsea to Colac

Two kilometres of new lanes are now open between the new roundabout at Colac-Ballarat Road and the Baillie and Gallop Street intersections in Colac East.

This means there are now four lanes of traffic in this section, two in each direction.

The new roundabout at Colac Ballarat Road has been completed, which will make it safer for vehicles, particularly heavy vehicles, entering the highway.

Final surfacing of the road will be completed later in the year during warmer weather.

The opening of this latest section means you can now travel on more than 28 km of new, duplicated highway between Winchelsea and Colac. There’s only six more km to go.

We’ll continue to open these other sections of the Princes Highway as they are completed.

The $363 million Princes Highway upgrade between Winchelsea to Colac and is due to be completed later this year.
