Olympic Boulevard closure
Between 11pm Thursday 7 February to 6am Tuesday 12 February, we’re closing Olympic Boulevard between Punt Road and AAMI Park.
This is so we can upgrade the tram tracks so we can build a new, accessible tram stop on Swan Street later this year. We’ll also prepare the road for two new turning lanes from Punt Road to Olympic Boulevard.
Detours will be in place while we work on Olympic Boulevard. See the Streamlining Hoddle Street web page for more information and detour maps.
Detours may add up to an hour to your journey so please plan ahead and allow extra travel time.
The route 70 tram to and from the city will continue to run with some small changes during our works. You’ll need to hop off the tram at Swan Street near Cremorne Street or AAMI Park and walk across Punt Road. To avoid these changes, you can also catch the train between Flinders Street and Richmond Station.
We’ll have signs in place to guide you along the way.
While we work, you can still drive to AAMI Park and Melbourne and Olympic Parks from the river end of Olympic Boulevard.
Walking and riding
We'll have detours in place so you can still walk and ride through the area.
For more information and detour maps, see the Streamlining Hoddle Street web page.
