Resurfacing of Kororoit Creek Rd and Ferguson St begins
Drivers will enjoy a smoother and safer journey along Kororoit Creek Road in Altona and Ferguson Street in Williamstown thanks to major resurfacing works beginning as part of the $1.8 billion Western Roads Upgrade.
The works on the eastern section of Kororoit Creek Road – east of Millers Road – will be carried out at night to avoid disruption to motorists and will not impact detours that are in place as part of the West Gate Tunnel Project.
The works will involve:
- laying new asphalt
- fixing potholes
- building sealed shoulders
- painting new line markings.
Motorists will be able to continue using Kororoit Creek Road, however detours near work sites may cause some delays. Residents will have full access to their properties throughout the works and traffic controllers will ensure access to local businesses is also maintained.
So far, 28 roads have been resurfaced as part of the Western Roads Upgrade, with just nine more remaining until the resurfacing and rehabilitation package is complete.
Once the upgrades are completed, the project team will continue maintaining more than 260 km of arterial roads from Footscray to Werribee for the next 20 years.
See the Western Roads Upgrade project page for more information.
