Stage 1 Yan Yean Road Upgrade complete

1 November, 2019Yan Yean Road Upgrade

Stage 1 Yan Yean Road Upgrade is now complete.

Four lanes are open and six intersections with traffic lights and pedestrian crossings are operating.

Daily travel times have been improved along this busy stretch of road and the introduction of safety barriers has made Yan Yean Road safer for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.

Removing the dangerous road bends and doubling the number of lanes from two to four has delivered a huge boost to safety and capacity for the 24,000 motorists using this section of Yan Yean Road each day.

The new paths and crossing opportunities have been designed to better connect residents with public transport as well as local businesses and sporting precincts.

Landscaping will be complete by the end of November 2019. We’re proud to have created eight timber benches and six timber sculptures for the Plenty community to enjoy for years to come.

We’ve begun restoration works on Plenty church. The refurbishment is expected to be complete by the end of summer.

Help us celebrate the end of construction at our community event.
