New section of Peninsula Drive now open
Construction is ramping up on the Drysdale Bypass with the opening of a new section of road near the schools, sporting and entertainment precinct.
A new section of Peninsula Drive opened this week, changing the way traffic enters the precinct, so you can now enter and exit the area through a new temporary roundabout on Grubb Road.
The changed access arrangements enables the closure of the eastern end of Andersons Road, near Grubb Road, from Monday 29 April so we can continue to make progress on the bypass.
Additional ‘drop off’ car parking will be added to Andersons Road, while pedestrian access to schools, sports grounds and the Potato Shed will remain open via Reserve Road and Gillies Road.
Traffic controllers will be on hand at Peninsula Drive to help drivers adjust to the intersection changes.
These changes will allow us to start work on the pedestrian underpass which will provide a safe walking route to the precinct
When complete the Drysdale Bypass will give local roads back to the community, ease congestion and improve liveability for Drysdale residents, while making journeys on the Bellarine Peninsula safer.
