Watch the progress unfolding at Chandler Highway
More than 9800 tonnes of asphalt, 8000 cubic metres of crushed rock and 290,000 hours of work has gone into the Chandler Highway Upgrade.
In the next few months, we’ll also open new lanes, turn on the new traffic lights at Yarra Boulevard, install noise barriers and move pedestrians onto the heritage bridge.
The $110 million upgrade is widening Chandler Highway to build a second bridge next to the existing one and converting the original bridge into a walking and cycling path.
The project is due to be completed in mid-2019 and will improve reliability for the 44,000 cars using this road every day.
