We’re upgrading Bridge Inn Road between Plenty and Yan Yean roads to help you get home safer and sooner.

All construction projects in metropolitan Melbourne, City of Ballarat, City of Greater Geelong, Surf Coast Shire and Mitchell Shire will be closed until 5 October 2021, which includes this project.

Our site investigation works will continue until early 2022. These works include locating utility services and getting a better understanding of road and ground conditions to inform the next stage of the project.

Construction of the Bridge Inn Road Upgrade is expected to start in early 2022.

What can you expect?

While we work, you may experience some minor noise as we dig small holes in the ground to take soil samples and find the exact location of water, gas, electricity, telephone and internet services.

To keep our workers and community safe we may need to reduce speed limits and close a lane and while we work along Bridge Inn Road. Please follow the direction of signs and traffic controllers.

We’ll work mostly during the day between Monday and Saturday, between 7am to 5pm, and may need to work some nights to minimise impacts to road users.

We’ll maintain access to businesses and residences at all times, and Bridge Inn Road will operate as normal while we work.

Work is continuing on the Bridge Inn Road Upgrade with strict safety and COVIDSafe plans in place and we’ll continue to comply with all directions from the Victorian Chief Health Officer.

We are managing the number of staff attending our worksites, as well as implementing preventative measures to ensure community safety. Safety measures across the site include temperature screening, additional protective equipment including masks, daily health screening of workers, enhanced cleaning, staggered shifts and break times, and physical distancing.
