As part of the largest infrastructure project in northern Victoria, we’re building a second Murray River crossing to connect Echuca and Moama to make it quicker and easier for you to travel across the Campaspe and Murray Rivers.

Overview

Stages 1 and 2 involve major upgrades to Warren Street.

Stage 1 involved construction of a new roundabout at the intersection of Warren Street and the Murray Valley Highway. The new roundabout replaces the dangerous Y intersection. This was completed in mid-2018.

Stage 2 focuses on upgrading Warren Street. The upgrades include:

  • four new flood relief bridges
  • a new roundabout
  • an extended right-hand turning lane into Homan Street for local residents and the Echuca Cemetery
  • new service roads for residents
  • a new shared walking and cycling path.

Road closures

Temporary road closures: Stage 2 Warren Street upgrade

Work is well underway to upgrade Warren Street in Echuca.

To complete works safely, the section of Warren Street between Murray Valley Highway and the new roundabout under construction near Campaspe Esplanade will be closed until mid-2019.

Warren Street between the new roundabout and the existing Campaspe River Bridge will remain closed until late 2019.

Access to the cemetery, denture clinic, hairdresser, kinesiology practice and residents in the Warren Street area is via Ogilvie Avenue, Campaspe Esplanade and Homan Street.

During the temporary closure of Warren Street, the local side roads will remain accessible to local residents and emergency services only.

Please make sure you plan your journey and allow extra travel time to take the suggested detours. Thank you for your patience and understanding while we complete this important upgrade.
