We're upgrading Fitzsimons Lane to make it easier and safer to get you where you need to be.

Leane Drive day and night works

We’re installing new traffic lights at the Main Road and Leane Drive intersection to improve safety and local access in the area.

To safely upgrade the intersection to traffic lights and to minimise traffic disruptions we’ve started works during the day and the occasional nights on Main Road and Leane Drive.

Day works: what we’re doing and when

From Monday 9 August until late September 2021, we’ll work Monday to Saturday from 7am to 5pm, to complete the following activities:

  • demolish existing kerbs, road surface and shared use path
  • build new drainage and kerbs
  • install traffic light hardware
  • modify driveways within the intersection
  • asphalting
  • line marking
  • finish the shared use path.
What to expect
  • lane closures from 7am to 3:30pm
  • speed reduction to 40km/h
  • construction impacts such as noise, vibration and dust.
Night works: what we’re doing and when

From Monday 9 August until late September 2021, we’ll need to work at night occasionally between the hours of 8pm and 6am to complete the following activities:

  • saw cut the road to install vehicle detector loops that can detect vehicles and activate traffic lights
  • turn the traffic lights on
  • lay asphalt and line marking.
What to expect
  • lane closures from 8pm to 6am
  • speed reduction to 40km/h
  • construction impacts such as noise, vibration and dust.

We’ll monitor noise, vibration and dust levels at all times to ensure these impacts are kept to a minimum.

For your safety, please observe signs and instructions from traffic controllers.
