We're progressing planning for potential improvements to Governor Road in Braeside between Boundary Road and Springvale Road, to seek solutions to improve travel times, safety and transport connections.

Overview

The Victorian Government committed funding in the 2021-22 Budget to commence planning for potential improvements to Governor Road in Braeside between Boundary Road and Springvale Road.

Planning will investigate solutions to:

  • provide efficient access to the Mordialloc Freeway
  • reduce congestion and improve travel times
  • improve safely, including at intersections and on service roads

Status

We're undertaking planning and development work to inform potential improvements to Governor Road in Braeside. This includes traffic modelling, planning studies and environmental investigations.

This development work will allow us to understand the environmental and social impacts, develop design options and confirm scope and costs of different options.

Project timelines and milestones will be determined through this detailed planning work and a Business Case is being developed for future funding consideration.

Current activities

We’re carrying out various land, planning, environmental, cultural and historic heritage investigations to get a better understanding of the area. These investigations will shape the development of design options.
