We’re progressing planning for potential improvements to the Werribee Main Road and Princes Freeway Interchange to reduce congestion, improve travel times and increase connectivity.

Overview

The Victorian Government committed funding in the 2021-22 State Budget to commence planning for potential improvements to the Werribee Main Road and Princes Freeway Interchange in Werribee, to seek solutions to reduce congestion, improve travel times and increase connectivity.

We’re investigating potential upgrades including on and off ramps to the Princes Freeway. Provision for active transport and cycling is also being considered.

Status

We’re undertaking planning and development work to inform a potential interchange upgrade. This includes traffic modelling, planning studies and environmental investigations to get a better understanding of the local area.

This development work will allow us to understand environmental and social impacts, develop design options and confirm scope and costs of different options.

Timeline

Project timelines and milestones will be determined through this detailed planning work and a Business Case is being developed for future funding consideration.
